Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus is sometimes called golden staphylococcus. It is a common bacterium that lives on the skin or in the nose. It can cause a range of mild to severe infections and may cause death. Some strains are resistant to antibiotics. Hospital patients are more likely to be infected by S. aureus because of surgical or other wounds. Both community associated and hospital acquired infections with Staphylococcus aureus have increased in the past 20 years, and the rise in incidence has been accompanied by a rise in antibiotic resistant strains in particular, methicillin resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and, more recently, vancomycin resistant strains. Antibiotic resistance is a form of drug resistance whereby some sub-populations of a microorganism, usually a bacterial species, are able to survive after exposure to one or more antibiotics. Microbes, rather than people, develop resistance to antibiotics. Infected methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA), vancomycin resistant Enterococci (VRE), New Delhi Metallo beta lactamase (NDM-1) producing cabapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) showed the antibiotic is not effective on urinary tract infections, pneumonia, septicemia, etc. This study was from July to September 2013 in Cheju Halla University. Sterile swabs were used to take samples from the surface of student cell phones, department computer keyboards and computer mouses. Gram staining of the sample of 180 gram positive cocci note 132 strains, 19 strains of the gram negative bacilli, filamentous fungi were separated by 26 strains, cell phone, computer, keyboard, mouse, both gram positive cocci (74.6%), the frequency separation of the showed a high rate, gram positive cocci 132 strains of the target was identified. Results of identification of Staphylococcus aureus were isolated 62 strains. The results suggest that students and schools need to be concerned with the cleanliness of their cell phones and computer keyboard and mouses in order to prevent microorganism contamination.
